With the complete edition of the works of Karl Barth (1886-1968), the goal is to make available the texts, some of which have not yet been published, some of which are remote or scattered, in a critically commented edition that meets today's scientific standards. More than 50 volumes have been published since 1970. It is expected that a total of 75 volumes will be published.
The texts of the complete edition will now also be digitally published and freely available. The technical basis for the digital edition is the Coding of the texts in TEI. Tags are given to persons, organizations and places. As far as possible, these are compared with the data of the Karl Barth Archive and identified with norm data. In addition, the cited biblical passages are to be marked and the corresponding biblical texts are to be made available to users in the digital edition as required. The texts of the complete edition will also be linked with the digital sources from the Karl Barth Archive, so that users will also have access to these holdings. In this context, the Karl Barth Archive will publish its digitized holdings and the archive metadata in accordance with copyright periods and processing capacities (https://kba.anton.ch).
