Friedrich Schleiermacher's sermons are important documents of his activity and his effectiveness, both theologically and rhetorically. They have received great attention from his contemporaries and in the following history of theology. Schleiermacher's own sermon publications and sermon transcripts from his auditorium are available from all epochs of his life. The sermon corpus known so far (584 dates) can be supplemented by 757 unknown sermon dates from the unpublished estate. The edition of the sermons belongs to the "Critical Complete Edition (KGA)" of Schleiermacher as its III. department. According to the general principles of the edition, the section is arranged chronologically according to the date of the sermons, with Schleiermacher's own "collections" in front.
